In I Corinthians 12 the apostle Paul describes the Church of Jesus Christ as a Body.  “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, wether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”  It is a useful illustration.  Just as our human bodies are composed of many different members; all the varied parts of the body are governed by the same mind and soul.  So regardless of racial descent or social standing, the Body of Christ is birthed and governed by the same Holy Spirit.
